Introduction
The effective resolution of civil disputes is widely regarded as part of the critical infrastructure required for sustainable economic growth.
It is therefore important to form an empirical understanding of how disputes in the Greater Bay Area (GBA) are resolved.
Drawing upon a dataset of all publicly accessible court judgments handed down by the Qianhai Court, Shenzhen, during the 2015 – 2020 period,
this talk reports the preliminary findings of an empirical project that looks into the Court’s handling of Hong Kong- and Macau-related cases.
Also to be discussed are the implications of these findings for cross-border dispute resolution in the GBA.
