Attending the Worldwide Universities Network Conference

3−5 May 2017 | ONE UN Hotel New York, New York City, United States

The GCR’s Co-Convenor Prof. Fanny M. Cheung, and GCR members Prof. Suk-ying Wong and Prof. Kelvin Tsoi, attended the Worldwide Universities Network (WUN) Conference and Annual General Meeting (AGM) held in New York on 3−5 May 2017, featuring governance group meetings, a strategic review of the Network, and a President’s Forum.

WUN has developed four cross-cutting themes that intersect with the four Global Challenges. Prof. Fanny M. Cheung and Prof. Dongshu Ou participated in the Global China Group and the theme of Economics, respectively. The Group brings together expertise and resources in contemporary China Studies from across the Network for a two-way understanding of and engagement with China. Meanwhile, the theme takes a broad approach to economics, encompassing both macro and micro dimensions. In addition, here at CUHK Prof. Fanny M. Cheung and Prof. Stephen W. K. Chiu have been identified as champions of China Studies and the Belt and Road Initiative.
