Attending the 2016 United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) Emergence Conference

Co-organized by the University of Macau (UM) and the UNCITRAL Regional Centre for Asia and the Pacific, the 2016 UNCITRAL Emergence Conference took place in Macau, China, during 13–14 December 2016. The Conference was titled “Regional Perspectives on Contemporary and Future Harmonization Agenda in International Trade Law”. This is the third consecutive year that UM and the UNCITRAL Regional Centre for Asia and the Pacific have co-organized the conference.

This year, Prof. Lutz-Christian Wolff from the GCR was invited to serve as one of panellists to present his paper, entitled “China’s ‘Belt and Road’ Initiative and the CISG: Accelerating Contract Law Harmonization through a Diplomatic Programme?”. 

The conference consisted of a plenary session and seven thematic discussion sessions. Exchanges of ideas among experts and scholars from various countries were fostered.
