Belt and Road Initiative: A Reception for Consuls-General

The Belt and Road Initiative: A Reception for Consuls-General was hosted by CUHK on 6 October 2016 as an occasion for the University to inform the Consuls-General of its vision for the BRI, as well as to enable the University to build connections with the educational and cultural sectors in the countries along the Belt and Road. A total of 25 representatives from 22 Consulates-General, and 24 local, non-local, and exchange students of CUHK attended this event. 



Representatives of the GCR, include Co-Convenors, Prof. Fanny M. Cheung, and Prof. Stephen W. K. Chiu, members, Prof. Suk-ying Wong, Prof. Yuen-sang Leung, Prof. Emily Y. Y. Chan, and Prof. Chao Xi, and the Research Coordinator, Dr Victor Zheng attended the Reception. 



Prof. Cheung delivered a presentation on Global China Research at CUHK, touching on academic exchanges and research collaboration opportunities with Belt and Road countries. She introduced strategic themes and endeavours of the GCR. Prof. Suk-ying Wong gave a presentation on international partnerships and student learning at CUHK, and collaboration opportunities with Belt and Road countries. Exchanges of ideas among members of the CUHK community and representatives from Belt and Road countries were fostered.
