The Conference on Building the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road and Advancing International Industrial Cooperation took place in Xiamen, China on September 7, 2016. The conference was jointly sponsored by the Belt and Road Think Tank Association, the China International Fair for Investment and Trade Organizing Committee, and the Eco-Agriculture and Food Safety Forum for the Belt and Road.

 

This year, the GCR Programme’s research coordinator, Dr Victor Zheng, was invited to attend the conference as a panellist.

 

Dr Zheng participated in the session entitled “Boosting People-to-People Contacts and Cultural Exchanges”, and gave a speech entitled “Hong Kong’s Chances and Challenges in Promoting the Belt and Road Initiative: An Institutional Innovation View”. Dr Zheng also attended the 19th China International Fair for Investment & Trade.
