20–25 June 2019   |   Xiuxi Village, Hunan Province; Ngawa Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province, China

Prof. Emily Y. Y. Chan led a team to two sites that had previously been selected to participate in the Ethnic Minority Health Project. Health education campaigns were delivered to enhance the community’s disaster resilience. The campaign organized health education activities for the villagers as well as for the students of Xiuxi Village and the Ngawa Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture. These included instruction on the use of the disaster preparedness kit, the importance of following a healthy diet, and health-promoting behaviours relevant to post-disaster situations. Health messages were conveyed.
